Web Design

Getting bored with only doing print design, this is what I decided to go back to school for some formal education in. Thus far, I'm self-taught, learning HTML, CSS, search-engine optimization, and standards-based web design on my own.

Hallie & Jon

Site layout to announce and provide lodging information for the wedding of a couple of Boston-based lawyers. Like the McDonnell site, I incorporated a CMS back-end that allows for WYSIWYG updating of page content.

McDonnell Building Materials

Site layout for an agricultural supply company based in Keller, Texas. They needed a facelift on their website, and to make updating their product listings easier on the office staff, I incorporated a CMS back-end that runs on PHP and provides a WYSIWYG interface for updating page content.

Jennifer Lee Johnson Photography

This site was done for a very good friend of mine, a talented photographer from North Carolina. One of the things I wanted to convey was the way she approached her craft, giving a hand-made feel to all her photographs that really help them stand out on their own in a world of shiny, over-processed images. She eventually became my wife.

Covenant Health Learning & Leadership Development

This is a splash page done for the intranet site of an internal department at the company I work for. They wanted a single place that every employee could come to and use as a jumping-off point to other places on the intranet that house their various educational tools and services.

Biotech Organic Art

Site concept developed for a tatoo shop owned by some friends of mine. They've since parted ways and the shop has closed down; but I think the concept was pretty successful in showcasing the portfolios of the artists in a way that runs counter to how people usually think of tattoo shops by showing them in a clean, orderly method using lots of big colors.

Covenant Health Graphic Services

The department I work in needed the intranet site overhauled so that our internal clients would have a place to come get logos and learn about our services.

To say that something is designed means that it has intentions that go beyond it's function. Otherwise it's just planning.
